Postcard from Oxford

Good evening everyone! I hope you all got to enjoy today's amazing weather! So excited for a week full of sunshine!

A few month a ago me and my boyfriend went down to Oxford (it's a 1, 5 hour bus ride from Marble Arch) for the weekend to celebrate our Anniversary. We've met at Oxford Brookes 9 years ago and it was the perfect location to celebrate!

We've stayed at the Old Bank Hotel (quite a difference from our student halls), which was voted by the Sunday Times as 'the place to stay in Oxford' due to it's central location and beautiful, luxurious bedrooms.

Oxford is the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of London and strolling through the  beautiful meadow of Christ Church feels like being in the great British country side and you can't avoid thinking of Harry Potter, obviously!

As William Butler Yeats put it so correctly:

'I wonder anybody does anything at Oxford but dream and remember, the place is so beautiful. One almost expects the people to sing instead of speaking. It is all like an opera'

Make sure to visit some of the lovely museums Oxford has the offer. The Ashmolean Museum is hosting an impressive collection of art and archaeology! Make sure to visit their roof terrace cafe for a great view over the city.

Another favourite of mine is the museum of History of Science (the world's first purpose-built museum) , which features a beautiful collection of scientific instruments from the Middle Ages to the 19th century.

While staying at our lovely hotel it just felt right to pack my most luxurious and softest PJ with me, courtesy of Eight Hour Studio! Their PJ's are made of luxe organic cotton and are hand block printed  and this shirt dress even has pockets - the dream!

It works really well as a night dress but I can't wait to pack it with me to my next summer holiday, wearing it as a beach cover up!

These gorgeous, handmade bracelets are from IRIS and are the perfect boho chic accessories for summer! Make sure to check out their beautifully handmade sandals - which I've blogged about over here.

No visit to Oxford is completed without visiting at least a hand full of their famous pubs! My all time favourite one is the Turf Tavern, which is one of Oxford's worst kept secret locations! Another amazing and cozy pub is the The Bear Inn - which is serving since 1242!

I'm currently trying this new tooth paste from BOCA, which features one for day and night and promises to outsmart oral bacteria.

The day formulation incorporates the natural power and energising effects of ginseng and caffein.

The night one is a calming blend of chamomile, organic valerian and aloe vera.

They are organic mint and rose flavoured, which is quite refreshing and I love the sleek packing.

I've been using Maria Nila shampoo's for a while now (read more over here) and I had to try their new Heal shampoo and conditioner. Next to it's lovely, pastel coloured packing and lovely smell, it is treating and preventing dandruff and other scalp problems. Furthermore, it prevents hair loss and increases hair growth!

I blame all the Wisteria Hysteria for my latest nail polish obsession! This gorgeous nail polish is called Lavender sky and I'm really impressed with this Avon polish and the clever, tilted bottle head! The polish goes on streak free and leaves a lovely, gel shine finish! A new favourite of mine!
