We started off with the Jerusalem Artichoke Chopsticks with Truffle Ponzu Dip which set the standard very high.
Followed by Miso Grilled Baby Chicken with Spicy Lemon Garlic Sauce which were beautifully marinated.
Tuna Sashimi Pizza with Truffle Ponzu, Red Onions and Green Chillies
Delicious Baby Shrimp Tempura with Spicy Mayo and Warm Ponzu Dipping Sauces.
Next up we had Squid Kara-Age with Jalapeno Dipping Sauce which were equally tasty and this place produces some of the best dips I have ever tried.
The dish we scoffed down the quickest were these Pork Belly Buns (the softest pork belly ever) and the crunchy peanut dip made this our favourite dish, the sweet potato fries rounded it up beautifully.
So this Soft Shell Crab Tempura Maki with Kimchee Mayo dish had some strong competition but it passed with flying colours, in fact it was one of the best maki I've had in a while.
The chef behind all this is ex-Nobu head-chef Scott Hallsworth and he and his team produce some seriously delicious Asian food with a twist. I was really blown away by the cool and laid back atmosphere of Kurobuta. It's located in Chelsea so it isn't cheap but you are served with beautiful and creative dishes and it makes it the perfect treat. Make sure to book a table as it gets quite busy even during the week.
Looks great!
